Data Collector Transaction
The Data Collector is an Android app for handheld scanners. Staff scan products on the shop floor or in the warehouse, for example for a stock count or a delivery, and the scans are uploaded to CIRMS. This list shows the uploaded files so you can import them into transactions.
Menu: Data Collector › Data Collector Transaction
How to find uploaded scans
- Open Data Collector › Data Collector Transaction.
- Set Date From and Date To, and optionally the Transaction Type, then click Search.
Each row shows the Reference No., Import Date, Total Count, Source and who uploaded it (Imported By).
How to use the scans in a transaction
The scans are imported from inside the transaction screen:
- Open a new transaction of the matching type, for example Inventory Adjust, Purchase Inbound, Sales Outbound or Stock Delivery Outbound. For a stock count, use Physical Inventory Count.
- In the product toolbar, click Data Collector ▾, choose the scan file by its Reference No. and click Search. If the transaction already has products, choose Append, Merge or Overwrite.
- The scanned products and quantities are added. Check them, then save and approve as usual.
To delete an uploaded file you no longer need, use Delete Data Collector Transaction on its row.
Example
For the year-end count, three staff scan aisles 1–10 with handhelds. Each upload appears in this list with its reference number. In Physical Inventory Count, each team's count is created from its upload, so nobody types the 2,400 quantities by hand. The same works for receiving: scan the delivered boxes, then use Data Collector on a direct Purchase Inbound.
